On November 7, 2022, the Administrative Office of the United States Courts (AO) deployed OSCAR release 3.0 with a number of enhancements for law school administrators (LSAs) and recommenders.

Release 3.0 Changes for LSAs

Digest Emails for Recommendation Requests

LSAs can elect to receive email notifications of pending recommendation requests for recommenders who have turned off their email notifications on new and pending recommendation requests. OSCAR now provides these notifications as a digest email instead of individual emails.

User Credentials Automatically Sent to New LSA Account Holders

When LSAs create new law school administrator accounts, OSCAR will automatically email login information to the new account holder. Note: Remember to set user rights when you create an LSA account. LSA account default to "View Only" user rights.

Re-send Recommendation Request Emails to Recommenders

LSAs can now easily re-send recommendation request emails to recommenders using the new Manage Email > Send Pending Reminder Email batch option on the Recommenders List.

Counts of Draft and Withdrawn Applications

LSAs can now view a count of finalized, draft, and withdrawn applications for each applicant on their Applicants Lists.

General User Experience Improvements

OSCAR introduces some general improvements to the recommender interface to improve the user experience.

• The option to change the expiration date for an automatically attaching letter of recommendation now only displays after the letter is initially set to automatically attach. Click for more information on automatically attaching letters of recommendation.
• Recommender assistant information now displays on the recommender home page.
